5th Annual Miami International Wine Fair to be held
November 11-12, 2006 at the Miami Beach Convention Center

After three successful editions at the James L Knight Center in Downtown Miami, Florida’s largest wine tradeshow is relocating to be able to accommodate the growing number of wine producers interested in penetrating America’s second largest and fastest growing market .

The Miami Wine Fair is also changing its dates to the month of November to maximize participation from North American and European producers (regions typically harvesting during the month of October). The new dates will also maximize the show’s impact in end-of-the year wine sales and will help attract a larger number of buyers from around the world while minimizing the show’s exposure to Florida’s infamous hurricane season. November’s second weekend also coincides with the end of IFE Americas Food & Beverage Expo (held during the same week at the Miami Beach Convention Center), a tradeshow combination that will position Miami as the season’s wine and food trade capital in the western hemisphere.

The 2006 Miami International Wine Fair will attract more than 5,000 visitors who will flock to Miami Beach to taste over 1,000 wines from 18 countries; a reasonable expectation given the fact that last year 4,000 people attended the Wine Fair and nearly 900 wines form around the world were featured.

In addition to the classic two-day Grand Tasting, this year’s edition will also include a comprehensive program of guided tastings, wine dinners, industry seminars and South Florida’s first ever food and wine pairing competition. “We are investing heavily to ensure our 5th annual edition delivers outstanding business opportunities for participating exhibitors while exposing Florida’s wine trade and aficionados to the best wine collection ever seen in Miami under the same roof”, said David Bernad, Co-founder and General Manager of the Miami International Wine Fair.

The Miami International Wine Fair is open to all, including wine producers from around the world (with or without representation in Florida), US importers, and Florida-based distributors of fine wines. A select group of high-quality spirits, gourmet foods and wine accessories will also be allowed to participate.
