IT'S A CELEBRATION! SPAIN, CHAMPAGNE AND THE MIAMI INTERNATIONAL WINE FAIR TAKE THE LEAD!

It's been a celebratory summer for Spain who won the World Cup, the men's final at Wimbledon and the Tour-de-France; but Xavi, Nadal and Alberto Contador aren't the only ones making a splash. The Miami International Wine Fair is uncorking its 9th edition October 14 - 17, 2010 with an expanded program featuring more than 1,800 wines from 20 countries. With two days open to consumers on Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, and more than 6,000 visitors anticipated, let the games begin in the majestic world of wines!

Proving that the renaissance of Spanish winemaking is alive and well, Castilla La Mancha, Prodeca of Catalonia and Catalan Wine USA have each reaffirmed their presence at the 2010 Miami International Wine Fair. Based on Castilla La Mancha's success in previous years, expect their return in larger numbers and with an extensive portfolio of wines - it's no wonder that Spanish World Cup player Andres Iniesta bet his soccer fortune on a winery in the La Mancha region!

In keeping with the festive mood, the Fair is also bringing out the bubbly as The Maison Ch. & A. Prieur will be showcasing their bruts, blancs and roses champagnes. Founded by Jean-Louis Prieur in 1825 in Vertus, the village of the famous Cote des Blancs (France), he named the brand after his sons Charles and Alphrède. Though a family affair for many years, ownership of the Maison Prieur was transferred in 2005 to the region's passionate and dedicated growers. Together, they are revitalizing the House by capitalizing on its history and on the excellence of its champagnes, which combine tradition and modernity.

Admission to the Fair for trade is complimentary, and general admission for consumers is $75 per day ($130 for two days). VIP Tasting Room tickets, which offer wine enthusiasts early access to an exclusive pavilion featuring the world's top-rated wines, are priced at $125 per day ($220 for two days). Tickets may be purchased at www.miamiwinefair.com.
