IBERWINE at the Miami International Wine Fair

IBERWINE, one of the leading Spanish wine fairs, initiated a new stage with their position as a "Super Exhibitor" at the Miami International Wine Fair. At the 2008 event, more than 150 Spanish wineries, along with a few dozens of producers from Chile, Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil, showcased some of their best wines.

The MISSION STATEMENT for IBERWINE 2009 at the Miami International Wine Fair is:

  • To make IBERWINE the center of business activity for Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American wines.
  • To guarantee the presence of U.S. based importers, distributors, and representatives that will potentially increase the consumption of these wines.
  • To design a program of activities specifically directed towards showing how these wines, based on quality and price, are perfectly suited to compete in international markets. This applies not only to wines from the New World, but also to the traditional exporting countries, France and Italy.
  • To make IBERWINE/Miami International Wine Fair a reference for Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American wines, and at the same time strengthening the position of the gastronomy of these regions, based on the international peak of the Spanish cuisine.

The 2009 Miami International Wine Fair will be the second consecutive year for the partnership with IBERWINE. In 2008, wineries from Andalucía, Aragón, Castilla & León, Navarra and other regions took their wines to IBERWINE/Miami. Other official organizations, such as the agencies for exterior promotion from Castilla-La Mancha, Catalunya, Valencia and Galicia attended the Fair. Also attending through their association with IBERWINE were wineries and associations from Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Portugal and Chile.

Carlos Falcó, co-president of IBERWINE, said "the Fair (in 2008) was a huge success that surpassed even the highest expectations, and set the goals of success even higher for the 2009 edition."
